Powerline Networking
AZTECH launched the HomePlug 200Mbps, HL109E, with "Simple Connect," which enables an automated unique password generation feature that allows the secure pairing of two or more HomePlug adaptors.
The HL109E uses Simple Connect, an automated security system that utilises 128-bit AES encryption to ensure that your network connection is secure.
Plug one unit near your modem and another near your PC, and you’ll have a 200Mbps (megabits per second) network connection between them for simultaneously transferring high-definition videos, playing online games, and making VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) calls.
The HomePlug is a plug-and-play device and it can be used in any part of the house with a wall socket.
The HomePlug HL109E will be available next month for RM209.

Hello Kitty Theme Vehicle
You also know there is something seriously wrong when you have over 50 emails of Hello Kitty photos sitting in your email from people that think you need to see more Hello Kitty items. My email inbox is beginning to resemble my house. This is definitely not a good thing.
Take, for example, this Hello Kitty car:
My only saving grace at this point is that my wife feels that it is “too small” - that’s not to say she doesn’t want a fully decked out Hello Kitty car, she just wants a BIG one (which she is slowly doing to our current car…). The problem, of course, is that at some point I know I’m going to hear that we need a second car and this will certainly be in the running. There really should be some universal law that Hello Kitty and cars are not allowed to mix…
Future laptop design?
The Traveller laptop concept by Nikita Golovlev may just represent a quantum leap of what may be possible in mobile computing thanks to ePaper, the flexible plastic display under development which is downright miserly on power consumption and can provide motion graphics that are as clear as their LCD counterparts. At least in theory.
Golovlev got inspiration for the design from a tourist map which provides where you get a general overview, followed by inserts with more detail. Using software on the built in hard drive (though I think flash drive is more suited to the idea), the Traveller can also be used as in concert with GPS navigation. It can also interface with any photographs stored and synced to a GPS log to show exactly where photos were taken. Then, utilizing built-in WiFi or Bluetooth, information and photographs can be shared with the world.
Now granted, this is only a concept – it hasn’t even made it to the prototype stage. But it does show the potential impact ePaper can have on an industry always looking to shave a few ounces out of it’s weight.
No word on if it will even get to the prototype stage, but one other question begs to be answered … with a design like this and ePaper being perfected, could it also be possible that someday we’ll see a disposable laptop?

Samsung wrist watch phone later this year
Having earned itself a reputation as a mobile phone manufacturer that dares to go new ways, Samsung is once again showing off its technical prowess. Announced at the recent CeBIT fair, Samsung's new wrist watch phone will hit shelves in Europe some time during the fourth quarter this year, boasting advanced connectivity features and a colour display.
Despite being a first-generation watch phone, Samsung's new Dick Tracy-style watch offers a range of advanced features |
Dubbed a 'watch phone', the dual-band GSM 900/1800 MHz device will offer one and a half hours of continuous talk time and 80 hours of stand-by time at the flick of a wrist. The handset also supports voice activated dialling and includes a built-in phone book and 40 different polyphonic ring tones, and weighs in at under 80 grams.
Measuring a minute 37.8 x 64 x 17.7 mm, the watch phone also offers support for GPRS Class 10, which should provide users with more than comfortable speed when using its WAP 1.2 browser and e-mail client. In addition, the watch phone also supports SMS and MMS, as well as Bluetooth and speakerphone capabilities. Whether the Bluetooth support also includes a DUN Profile is unknown, but it would be fair to assume that if it did, the watch phone would quickly become a hot item amongst owners of Bluetooth-enabled PDAs seeking GSM/GPRS connectivity.
Users will interface with the watch phone through its 8-bit (256 colours) OLED display, sporting a resolution of 96 x 64 pixels which can be personalized by means of wallpapers. Also, as befits a watch phone, the display shows the time when the user is not engaged in other activities.
Additional hi-res pictures of Samsung's Wrist Watch Phone are available on the following pages.
Cool watch Oberon from TokyoFlash Japan
Thanks to companies like Tokyo Flash (and Nooka, among others), I'm starting to care about watches again. The rise of cellphones many years ago made me see watches as pointless and boring, as they were all Rolex clones, or wanted to include a million pointless meters on the face. But watches like the Oberon get a second glance from me. Minimal, attractive and creative, the contrast between the watch and its display makes me want to stare at it forever. And in case you're wondering, dots on the outer ring are hours, dots on the second ring are single minutes and dots on the inner ring are blocks of 10 minutes. It's 14,900 Yen at Tokyo Flash.

Samsung Intouch mobile phone concept
Concept mobile phone Samsung Intouch, developed by the designer Christina Drojra (Christina Droira) and pair its colleagues from university Tsinitsinnati, and the sponsor has acted company Samsung. Concept uses the so-called sub-vocal voice technology developed by agency NASA for communication of astronauts in space. In a basis of technology the set of the gauges fixed on a throat of the person lays and allowing with ease to carry out voice communication.
All this, certainly, allows to approve, that concept Intouch there is something greater, rather than easier phone. It consists of three details: actually telephone tube and Bluetooth ear cuff and the neck piece with adjustable magnetic enclosure.
And, if to be fenced off from scientific terms and explanations, phone Intouch is equipped by large enough touch LCD-display, the scanner of prints of fingers, and also the small screen at the top end face
Turn Your Mobile Phone Into A Portable WiFi Hotspot

The CradlePoint PHS300 will allow you to turn your Blackjack, Blackberry, RAZR or other cellular or USB modem into your own personal 802.11b/g wireless hotspot. Simply plug the USB cable from your supported cell phone into the PHS300 and your're ready to go with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a wireless router like NAT, Firewall, access control, UPnP, and 64/128-bit WEP (11b/g), WPA/WPA2, and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.
Playstation3 Darklite Bluetooth Headset For PS3
While looking for a Blue tooth headset that doesn't look like all the others on the market, we stumbled upon the EX-01 made by Messiah Entertainment that offers 4-6 hours of continuous talk time and charges via USB. We're taking bets that this headset will show up in a low-budget science fiction "made-for-TV-movie" within months after it is released in May.
